Welcome to our COMMIT! Forum preview issue!
Whether you’re reading this before the event to see what’s planned, after the event to catch up on the highlights, or during the event to decide which sessions you want to attend, we hope you enjoy the content and participate in our annual conference.
I recently wrote a post on our new CR blog about the COMMIT! Forum and the reasons to attend. You can read it at www.thecrmagazine.blogspot.com; but here are the top three things I’m most looking forward to:
3. An Exciting CEO Panel
“Shared Responsibility: An Exclusive CEO Panel” offers attendees the opportunity to hear C-level thought leaders share their experiences. This session will be both informative and entertaining.
2. The Annual Responsible CEO of the Year Awards Dinner
CR Magazine’s Responsible CEO of the Year Awards Dinner is the highlight of the forum. This special dinner and awards ceremony celebrates the most responsible CEOs nominated by their colleagues. The winners will be announced during the much anticipated evening.
1. Fantastic Opportunities for Networking
Networking is key at the forum. Attendees will be able to engage with C-suite executives, CEOs, corporate communication professionals, and CR professionals-debating ideas and learning best practices.
But what do your fellow corporate responsibility professionals think of the forum? We asked them, and here’s what they had to say:
“Mosaic is looking forward to good coffee, forward-thinking panel conversations, and seeing how the SharedXpertise team makes this year’s event even more sustainable. Last year’s zero-waste effort will be hard to beat!” Says Ben Pratt, vice president of corporate public affairs at The Mosaic Company. He is hosting the “Innovation at Mosaic” session.
“For those with intellectual curiosity around topics of corporate responsibility, sustainability, and purpose, the COMMIT! Forum is a rich source of dialogue and networking that is invaluable in our field,” says Shannon Schuyler, principal, chief purpose officer, chief corporate responsibility officer, and president of the PwC Charitable Foundation at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Schuyler is hosting a movie presentation of Generation Startup at the Regal Cinema.
“Operating responsibly is a complex system of decisions, and navigating the choices takes a commitment to education in order to continually improve and learn from the experiences of others,” says Beth Rusert, senior vice president and partner of Standing Partnership, says of the COMMIT! Forum. “The cost of not being a part of the conversation is too high for those interested in engaging in and positively impacting the communities in which they do business … Attendees will learn how to implement a better reputational risk management approach, who should be included on the team, and the steps for an effective strategy that will lead to the highest level of protection you can give to your organization’s most valuable asset,” she says of her session, “Understanding the Impact of Reputation.”
So join us at the Westin in New York City on Oct. 18-19—-grab a cup of Thrive coffee, greet your colleagues, and get ready to listen, learn, and share! We can’t wait to see what you have to say.
